Welcome to MovieNewsPro for Thursday, July 10th. Here's what you need to know.

🎬 Today's Take

A24 is known for making bold moves, so this shouldn't surprise anyone: the studio is releasing a dubbed version of China's Ne Zha 2 in America. Voices will include Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh. The movie is the 5th highest grossing movie of all time, and the number one grossing animated movie of all time, with a take of 2.2 billion.

What’s particularly interesting is that A24 stepped in after seemingly no other major studio showed serious interest. Despite most of its earnings coming from China, the film boasts a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4.1 out of 5 on Letterboxd. This looks like yet another savvy move by one of the coolest players at the cool kids’ table—spotting what the big studios are ignoring and jumping on it. When the new version hits U.S. theaters, I’ll definitely be buying a ticket.
