It's Wednesday, June 18th. Here's what's happening.

🍿 The Big Picture

It appears there might be progress in the ongoing Paramount/Skydance situation. President Trump finally spoke about the proposed merger today, telling reporters: “Ellison’s great. He’ll do a great job with it.”

Obviously, with Trump, things can change quickly, but this at least sounds like a favorable opinion toward the merger. Of course, there's still the 60 Minutes lawsuit to deal with, and who knows exactly how that will play out. Plus, if a settlement is reached, there may be pushback from Congress on the deal.

The good news, however, is that for the first time in weeks, there finally seems to be movement on the M&A front. For many in the industry, simply knowing what’s happening can be considered progress.
