Today's Headlines

Warner Brothers CEO David Zaslav has begun informal talks with possible Replacements for film heads Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, according to the Hollywood Reporter and Bloomberg. Our take: Makes sense. Changes are coming.

Speaking of Warner Brothers, auteur writer-director Michael Mann has reportedly handed in the Script for Heat 2 to the studio, according to Deadline. Our take: It would be hard to top the original. However, this is proven I.P. and a sequel (if cast correctly) should bring in serious box office.

Analysts predict a slight Global box office increase for 2025, according to Deadline. Our take: This is predominantly fueled by the explosive box office for China's animated film Ne Zha 2. Gower Street Analytics predicts the domestic market to fall from $9.7 billion to $9.5 billion.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has formally Apologized for not supporting Oscar winning director Hamdan Ballal, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The director was recently arrested and injured in the West Bank. Our take: A necessary move in response to criticism that a previous statement showed a proper lack of support.

Box Office Rankings: Sunday, March 30th

1) Snow White
2) A Working Man
3) The Chosen: Last Supper
4) The Woman In The Yard
5) Death of a Unicorn

Our take: With Disney's Snow White leading with just 4.4 million on Sunday, this is clearly a disappointing time.
