🍿 The Big Picture
Studios and streamers are examining their assets, trying to sort out potential strategies. The newly independent Starz is promising more original content while Peacock watches with interest. Roku and Cineverse are hitting their stride in the FAST lane, while Disney and HBO Max may have to revisit their once-lofty goals of competing with Netflix. The once-quirky little streaming service MUBI is now making power moves in all directions, and no one really knows what Amazon and Apple are doing in the space. It’s starting to look like a potential game of musical chairs—and no one is sure when the music will stop.
